The 1976 Set of the Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association has once again recognized the talent, dedication, and hard work of students from Government College Ibadan.

Representatives Aofolaju Gboyega (3191, Swanston) and Olaoye Ayodele (3260, Swanston) awarded cash prizes of Twenty-five Thousand Naira (#25,000.00) each to the top students in JSS 1 and JSS 2 of Junior School I, as well as JSS 1 and JSS 2 of Junior School II, and SSS 1 and 2 of Senior School during the 2022 JETS Day celebration held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at the GCI Assembly Hall.

The recipients present at the ceremony included Esuola David and Okeowo Sunday from Senior School, Aniyikaye Timileyin from Junior School I, and Esuola Timothy from Junior School II, accompanied by their parents and guardians.

The event was also attended by Tunde Odekunle (3241, Powell), a member of the 1976 Set and former Principal of the school.

Olaoye Ayodele (3260, Swanston), the Technical Coach of the GCI Football Team, encouraged all GCI students to put in diligent efforts to succeed in both their academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. He reaffirmed the 1976 Set's commitment, along with that of the GCIOBA, to recognizing excellence and supporting the development of the school as a whole.
