Welcome to Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association

The time to recognise the people who practically provide the conducive learning environment and serene academic aura at Government College Ibadan cannot be farther from now, as the GCIOBA-1986 Set has identified these unsung heroes as their beneficiaries of their Pet Project III.

The rationale behind this accolade, according to the Class Set Chairman, Seun Akin Esho; was to express love to the menials, inspire them so as to be more diligent and committed; and reassure them of a sense of belonging to the GCI big family.

Four Non Teaching Staff of the school which had two Drivers, Mr Akinyemi Ajibola and Mr Owolabi Olusola; one Cleaner, Mrs Folake Adegbenro; and a Day Guard, Mr Kehinde Peter; were carefully selected on a merit based system to receive the sum of twenty-five thousand naira each (#25,000.00) from the 1986 Class Set on the 21st of June, 2018.

The Senior School Driver, Mr Akinyemi Ajibola, popularly known as Baba Dada, believed to be the longest serving non-teaching staff of the school, on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed his profound appreciation to the boys of 1986 Set for not only remembering them, but also recognising their labour in the uplift of the prestigious College.

It would be recalled that the 1986 Set had earlier honoured 6 GCI students and 4 GCI Teachers with cash rewards, in the first and second phases of their Pet Project that held in the months of March and May, 2018 respectively.
