The zeal to give back to Government College Ibadan is now on the increase, as the younger Generations of Old Boys are gradually emulating the kind gesture and selfless services of the Ancient and Medieval Generations.

The Boys of 2001 Set, on Thursday, 7th of December, 2017 had a successful Career Fair with the SSS II and III students of Government College Ibadan at the School's Assembly Hall.

The first Speaker, Mr Femi Famakinde, a CEO of a real estate firm in Lagos, admonished the students to carefully choose their profession and/or vocation according to their preferred choice, talent, skill and academic capability. He advised them not to succumb to peer pressure.

The second Speaker, Mr Kingsley Igbinedion - Founder of The E-nnovators, and Motivational Speaker, who is also an Old Boy and former Head of School of the School urged the students to always make well informed decisions that are professionally guided and thoroughly thought through. He added that they should always visit the Guidance Counselor of the School whenever the need arises.

The Career Fair also had the students divided into micro groups, each group was headed by a carefully selected Set Representative serving as Mentors to the students and in turn had mind boggling discussions with one another.

The Chairman of the Set and Project Chairman, Ogunwale Ifedayo Esq., used the medium to call on all other members of the Set to put their Alma Mater in their heart at all times, and shouldn't wait till the rosy time before giving back to the School that made them.

The event was used to commemorate their 10 years after graduation from GCI, and the Set later had her 10th Year Anniversary Party tagged 'Decenium' at Bally International Motel, Ring Road, Ibadan on the 26th day of December, 2017.
